5 Ways to Treat Flare Ups Part One
When you have health problems, in general, there will be times when symptoms will come back even with regular intake of medicines. I know that people who have digestive problems get flare ups, so I’ll be explaining five ways you can deal with flare ups to different types of conditions and disorders. I’m just noting you can’t control what happens to your body when you have a flare up, but you can either avoid it or treat it.

1.Ulcerative colitis
I
haven’t really explained what this is, but you can go here to find out. You
could have a flare up for this condition just like that and you could
experience:

Diarrhea

Rectal
bleeding
·
Urgent
bowel movements
·
Constipation
·
Abdominal
cramps and pain
·
Fever
·
Fatigue
·
Weight
loss.
This
also goes for Crohn’s disease, which will be on this list. Flare ups could be
caused by stress or having certain foods to not taking the medicine right and
using anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or antibiotics. Ulcerative colitis
effects the colon and the rectum, so the flare up means you have an
inflammation in those areas. To treat, try to get checked out by a doctor and
start a diet, where you avoid fibers like seeds, nuts, fresh and dried fruit,
raw vegetables, tough meat, bread and cereal with whole grain. Tips for
diarrhea is to take an over-the-counter anti-diarrheal. To ease abdominal pain,
avoid using NSAIDs and having a fever or being very tired is bad. If you do
have a fever, remember 99 degrees is the normal temperature for adults and
drink a lot of fluids. You can take an acetaminophen if you need medicine.

2. Crohn’s disease
This
disorder effects the small intestine, large intense, stomach and esophagus,
which is the entire gastrointestinal tract. The flare up symptoms includes
abdominal pain, diarrhea, needing to defecate, loss of appetite, fever and
weight loss. Triggers for this disorder can be from drinking or eating food
that upsets the stomach, smoking, a change in your medication and stress.
Things to do to be prepared for a flare up is make sure you have a change of
clothes for trips out the house and make sure you are in a quiet, cool room.
Also, you need to to have a lot of fluids and take either Acetaminophens
(Tylenol) or Anti-diarrheal medication.

3. Diverticulitis
I
haven’t talked about this one yet, but you can go here if you want to know what
it is. The flare ups happen when there is weak spots in your colon and the small-sized
pouches that are formed tear, causing inflammation or infection. Ways to help relieve
flare ups is using a heating pad to reduce abdominal pains, relax by breathing
and take an Acetaminophen.
IBS
is a very common condition that is easy to take care of when it comes to flare
ups. The symptoms that come with IBS are constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain
and bloating. To treat flare ups, you can do stuff that relieves stress, take
the time to relax, talk to someone about problems. Also, don’t eat foods that
could trigger it like chocolate, beans and broccoli, and drink lots of water.

5. GERD/Acid reflux
Since
this condition resides from the chest area, the flare ups and the treatment are
different. What might trigger this condition might be from the food you eat or
the way you exercised. Also, large meals that contain a lot of grease could
cause a flare up. One thing you can do to relieve the chest pains is change
what foods you eat. I would suggest make a list of foods that do cause
heartburn. Another thing would be to wait an hour after eating to exercise and
make sure not to lie down for the risk of making the heartburn worse. Also,
drinking a glass of milk helps calm the fire.
There
are more conditions and disorders that have flare ups, so there is more I can
inform you about. I’m thinking I’ll continue this later on when I feel like it’s
